St. Patrick Church Pastoral Council
August 28, 2007 (approved)

Present:          Fr. John, Sam Cari, Howard Cameron, , Mary Seyer, Jeanne Darnold, Carrie Whitacre, Mark Sturino, Shawn Porter Sr. Bernadette.
Also present:     Ken Schaefer, Mary Piasecki, Larry Huiras, Reg Klubeck, , Tim O‘Brien, Mark Nelson, Kathy Smoliske, Tom Brinsko, Claire Zajac .

Prayer   Father John led the council in prayer.

Call to Order: Sam Cari called the meeting to order at 7:06 pm.

Agenda The agenda was approved as presented.

Minutes: The minutes from the June, meeting were approved as presented.
Finance Committee Report: Tom Brinsko chairperson of the Finance Committee provided the Council with a report on the Parish Budget for 2007-2008. Tom thanked Ken Schaefer our new parish administrator for his work in producing the budget. Father John noted the two bequests that the parish received this year and how they have greatly assisted our financial needs as a parish. Tom stated that the report will be mailed out to all parishioners. Tom noted the work done by committee member Brian Huffman in producing the report. The council approved the parish budget for 2007-2008. Father John thanked Tom and Ken and the finance committee for their work on the budget.

Family Faith Formation: Father John introduced the new Faith Formation Director Dr. Larry Huiras. Larry comes to us from the Chicago area where he earned his doctorate in education. Larry will be supervising all Faith Formation programs in the parish including the adult formation programs. Larry presented to the council a new program that he has initiated in the six weeks he has been at our parish called Family Faith Formation. Father John thanked Larry for his presentation and once again stated how blessed we are to add Larry to the staff of our parish.

Fall Fest:        Howard Cameron reported that he and the Fall Fest Committee members were working to make this Fall Fest, September 14,15,16 a fun event for all members of the parish. Father John thanked Howard for once again organizing this event for our parish.

October 17 parish meeting: The council agreed to ask all standing committees to participate in the parish meeting on October 17, 2007. Mary Seyer agreed to contact all committee chairs to ask them to come to the September 25, Pastoral Council meeting to assist in planning the event.

Adjournment:            The meeting was adjourned at approximately 8:32pm.
