Minutes:
The minutes from the
January, meeting were approved as presented.
Stewardship:
Howard Cameron reported
that his committee was still working on making sure that everyone who turned in
their time and talent cards were contacted by a volunteer and that his
committee was already planning for next year.
Parish
Administrator: Rich O’Connor reported that a job description
had been created and would be posted in the parish bulletin. Ads would be
placed in publications and interviews would be scheduled in April. Father
John reported that a new DRE could be announced in March.
Deacon
Drevnick: The council agreed to send a letter to Bernie thanking him
for his service to our parish.
Hospitality:
Mary Seyer agreed to contact the fellowship committee regarding hospitality
after the 11:00 am mass.
State
of the Parish Update: A consensus was reached by the council to create
a eighth standing committee, the Diocesan Liaison Committee whose purpose is to
maintain a dialogue with the Bishop and his staff and to monitor the progress
of the Diocese on the four commitments and report monthly to the pastoral
council.
Parish
Nurse: Carol Landry, Bev Radermacher and Nancy Stinnett all registered
nurses presented a proposal to create a parish nurse program at St.
Patrick. The council authorized the creation of a ad hoc Health Ministry
committee to investigate the proposal.
The Ad
Hoc committee will report back to the council in April.
RFP: Tim
Gross reported to the council on the many ministries that compose the RFP
program. The ministry to the teens of our parish through Mark Nelson and Tim O’Brien’s work, the ministry to
the children through Maryann Kappler’s many programs and the many volunteers
who minister to our parish through the RFP program. Tim reported that 9
additional volunteer names were given to his committee through the Stewardship
campaign this fall. Mark Nelson
reported that 75 high school students are scheduled to be confirmed on May 20th.
A concern of the committee is that the parish offer continuing education for
both staff and volunteers. The RFP program has over 80 volunteers.
Father John invited the committee to continue its discussion at the March
meeting.
Adjournment:
The meeting was adjourned at approximately 8:45pm
Respectfully
submitted by Mary Seyer. Next meeting, March 12, 2007, Committee to report;
