| FIRST RECONCILIATION & EUCHARIST:The
Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist are usually celebrated in
the second grade. The preparation for these sacraments begins in the
fall of the student's second grade year with the Sacrament of
Reconciliation. The sacrament of Reconciliation is celebrated during
the parish reconciliation services in Advent (December) or Lent
(March). First Eucharist preparation follows Reconciliation. First
Eucharist is celebrated during the Easter season - usually the first
part of May.The preparation for First
Reconciliation and Eucharist is done in a home setting by the parents
or guardians of the young person. Family meetings are held at the
church in advance of the celebration of each sacrament to assist the
family in their role of sacramental preparation. Interviews to
determine the readiness of each child are conducted prior to the
