Prayer             Father John led the council in prayer.

Call to Order:     Sam Cari called the meeting to order at 7:03 pm.

Agenda           The agenda was  approved as presented

Minutes:         The minutes from the October, meeting were approved as presented.

Stewardship:    Howard Cameron reported that four members of the parish had come forward to speak at the four masses on the first Sunday in Advent on the subject of stewardship and gratitude.  Howard asked that all present please remember to turn in their cards and to remind others to do so. Father John thanked Howard and all members of his committee for their work on behalf of the people of St. Patrick parish.

Parish Administrator:   Mary Seyer informed the council that the finance council wished to move forward with the creation of  a new position of parish administrator for the parish.   The Pastoral Council approved a motion to form a sub-committee to draft a job description for a parish administrator for St. Patrick’s parish as the first step in hiring someone to assist Father John.  Rich O’Connor volunteered to serve as the pastoral council representative on the committee.   The sub-committee will report back to the Pastoral Council when the description has been drafted. The council hopes to complete the process in 2007.

State of the Parish Update:  Sam Cari thanked the members of the Elders who attended the meeting.  He reported that he had received a communication from the Bishop on October 27 in which the Bishop stated that he would continue to honor his four commitments including the establishment of an External Review Committee.  The council agreed to create a sub-committee to monitor the progress of the Diocese in honoring the four commitments, and to report to the council on the progress or lack thereof.  Members of the Elders were invited to serve on the committee.  Claire Zajac volunteered to write a letter to the Bishop to be signed by the council and Elders asking the Bishop to move forward in implementing the four commitments.  The council agreed that an update on the sub-committee’s correspondence with the Bishop would be part of the agenda of each Pastoral Council meeting.  The council also agreed that Vision 2007 should be a part of each agenda giving the council a chance to review our progress toward the goals stated in the Strategic Roadmap.  It was noted that one of the goals to “create an effective Web of Connections to Communicate Better across the Parish” was implemented by inviting the committees to send a representative to each Pastoral Council meeting.

Family Life:

Deacon Miller of the Family Life committee provided the council with a

mission statement from his committee.  He informed the council that the Family Life committee had decided to focus on Ministering to and with young adults for the next year.

Father John thanked Deacon Miller for his work with the committee.

Adjournment:

The meeting was adjourned at approximately 8:40pm.

respectfully submitted by Mary Seyer. Next meeting, January 23, 2007, Committee to report;  Faith Enrichment.
