St. Patrick Church Pastoral Council

Present: Fr. John, Howard Cameron, Jeanne Darnold, Mary Seyer, Sam Cari , Carrie Whitacre, Shawn Porter, Mark Sturino, Sr. Bernadette.
Also present: Tom O’Connell, Joan Richie, Gregg Miller, Bernie Drevnick, Maureen Wegleitner, Ellen Hanten, Bev Radermacher, Linda Radtke, Jayne Cernohous, Tim O’Brien, Mary Piasecki, Reg Klubeck, Mark Nelson, Maryann Kappler.
Prayer Father John led the council in prayer.
Call to Order Father John called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm.
Agenda The agenda was approved as presented
Minutes The minutes from the September, meeting were approved as presented.
Stewardship: Howard Cameron stated that on November 11 and 12 Father John will be addressing the congregation on Stewardship. Lay members of the parish will be speaking the following week, November 18 and 19. All parishioners will be asked to re-register.
Education Committee: Father John asked that the Education Committee postpone its’ report to allow Chairperson Cari to address the council.
State of the Parish: Sam Cari as chairperson of the Pastoral Council reported that he would be speaking to the parish at all masses on the weekend of October 28 and 29. Sam stated that he would be advising the parish on Vision 2007 and how the council and committees hoped to implement that vision for our parish. He also stated that he would be updating the parish on the relationship between the elders and the Bishop in the elders’ attempt to get the Bishop to implement the four commitments. On October 17, Father John received a letter from Bishop Fliss indicating that the Bishop and the Diocese would no longer consult with the elders of St. Patrick parish due to a possible lawsuit.
A motion passed asking that Sam as chairperson of the council contact the Bishop and the attorney for the Superior Diocese asking that the Bishop reconsider his position.
Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at approximately 8:25pm.
