Summer Youth Programs



 

Summer Stretch 
August 6th - August 10th      Valley Fair Date Tuesday, August 13th

Participant: 6th - 8th   Peer Leader: 9th - 12th   (Grades for 2018-2019)

Summer Stretch is a service and recreation summer program that seeks to form disciples and challenge youth to live out their faith within the community. A typical day starts at Church at 8:00am with large and small group faith activities.  The morning is dedicated to our service activity with the afternoon being the recreational event. The group arrives back at Church between 5:00 - 7:00pm, depending on the recreational activity.

Peer Leader Mandatory Training Date:  Tuesday, July 24th 9:00am - 12:00pm @  Church Social Hall

Parent Night: Tuesday, July 24th 5:00pm - 7:00pm  @  Church Social Hall


Registration Date has been extended to July 13th 

Fees: Registration: $100 deposit by (July 13th) + $50 balance due July 24th = $150

           Valley Fair Day-VFD (August 13th) = $35.00 

                    (VFD IS AN ADDED EVENT AND NOT PART OF THE SUMMER STRETCH FEE ABOVE.)

Totus Tuus 
July 30th - August 3rd  9:00am - 2:30pm    Grades 1st - 6th
July 29th - August 2nd  7:30pm - 10:00pm     Grades 7th - 12th

Family Potluck Wednesday, August 1st

The younger students learn about Christ and the Catholic Church through classroom lessons, skits, and saint visits.  They experience Christ through daily prayer, Mass, and the sacrament of Reconciliation.  Fun activities such as games, songs, skits, and recess complete the Totus Tuus experience for elementary school students. Children make new friends and learn that it is cool to be Catholic! 

Elementary youth are in the program over the lunch hour and will need a bag lunch and a snack with for the day. 

The Totus Tuus Middle/Senior High Program includes games, instruction, small group discussions, quiet meditation, prayer, and fellowship. The team challenges young people to embrace a life of discipleship. On Tuesday evening the youth experience Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and may       receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Wednesday evening is devoted to Vocations and Apologetics, where teens have the chance to ask questions about the Faith and get answers from the team.  Concluding the week, the team will be spends time in fellowship with the youth on Thursday night.

Participant cost:  $15 per youth ($45 max per family) - Those ONLY Volunteering are free

                Fee due to the Faith Formation office by Sunday, July 29th.

God’s Promise on Life’s Wild Ride

Life is full of thrills and spills; we may not know what's around the bend, but God does!   At Splash Canyon, kids discover that Jesus is by their side on life's wild ride.   God saves us through Jesus and gives us life and hope every day and forever.  So raise your paddle! In Jesus, the victory is won!

 
Middle and High school students, we need YOU and your friends to help make this a week that the kids will never forget!

Get ready to paddle into a life-changing journey that strengthens all youth in God’s friendship and love

Into the Waters A Boundary Waters Canoe Area Expedition
August 15th - August 19th

Grades 7th - 9th (Fall of 2018)

God saw all that He had created and said it is good.  Experienced leaders Tricia Pieper and Bob Jones will be leading a 5 day North Country Experience into the beauty of the MN North Shore and the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. This will be an amazing time to experience the beauty God has created for us while growing in our relationship with Him.  

Parent/Youth Meeting: Tuesday, July 24th  -  7:00pm  in  Church Social Hall

Packing party: Tuesday, August 14th - 6:00 pm in Church Social Hall

 

Fees: $50 deposit by July 1st + $125 balance due July 24th = $175 

Special camping gear provided by youth:

                       - Warm/light weight sleeping bag

                       - Camping pad (for negative heat transfer from ground)

                       - NON-cotton outdoor clothing

 

Tents, backpacks, canoes, paddles, life jackets, cooking items, water filers and other camping gear provided by leaders or outfitters.

Stuff the Bus - Valley Fair Day
Monday, August 13th   9:00 am - 7:00 pm

Grades 6th - 12th (Grade for 2018-2019)

Join the Summer Stretch crew as we finish our days of service together with a fun-filled day at Valley Fair Amusement Park.  Summer Stretch youth have priority in available spots and then we will  accept as many youth that will fill the bus going over for the day. 

This is a first-come, first served basis because there are limited spots on the bus, so register now.

Wednesday Night Live! is a night where all high schoolers are invited to experience, and connect in their faith. No more sitting in classes and talking about our faith. Now it your opportunity to put it in motion and experience Christ in the fullest!

All are invited to a night filled with Adoration, praise and worship music, witness talks, bible studies, and so many more this to fill your life with the Holy Spirit.

Summer Mission Trip with CHWC
July 7th - July 14th to Billings, MT

All spots have been filled but if you are interested in joining us, we are accepting registrations for a waiting list.

Mandatory Meeting - May 9th 7:00pm - 8:30pm @ Church
If you are attending the Mission Trip either a parent, guardian, or youth need to attend this meeting. We will be going over code of conduct, rules for travel, making sure everyone is on the same page with our travel plans, and we will be introducing all of our Chaperones for this summer so we can all get to know each other! There will also be an extended service opportunity called Host Youth Group for the Twin Cities camp, if you would like info on how to sign up and receive fundraising for all future St Pats trips you must attend this meeting

Catholic Heart Workcamp is a service, and faith camp where the youth will be performing acts of service around the community of Billings, Montana as well as having a dynamic faith program at night that dives into issues facing teens in today’s day. It is a week full of service and praise where the youth will be allowed to broaden their view of Christ’s kingdom and take action in their faith. 

Cost: $ 570    covering  f
ee for camp, travel there and back, snacks for free time, & Free Day activity Adventure Ziplining.

  Extreme Faith Camp 

June 18th - 22nd                    

Crescent Lake Bible Camp - Rhinelander, WI

Middle School Campers (6th-8th grade) - Prayer Team (9th grade) - Extreme Team (10th-12th grade)

Extreme Faith Camp is an exciting weeklong summer camp for middle school students and high school leaders filled with many activities, including swimming, canoeing, high ropes course, crafts, rock climbing, inner-tubing, paintball,    speakers, and music. Plus small group sessions, service work, daily Mass,Reconciliation and Adoration. You’ll find an EXTREME adventure of a lifetime!

Leadership Dates:  Extreme Team, Prayer Team, and Adult Team must attend the EFC training on May 6th  &  June 17th 
                                                  May 6th - Meet at Church at 11:00am back to Church by 8:00pm

Epic is a fun and faith-filled time with friends to grow in and share our journey toward Christ together. 

Come join other Middle School students as we gather for Mass at 5:00pm. Then enjoy some fun making and eating our own dinner. End the evening with an exciting faith activity to grow in your faith and your relationship with Jesus.

Soul Singers is the new-format Youth Music Ministry group for students in Middle School and High School.  There are no rehearsals, just come on the days you can, arriving at 4:00 p.m. before our scheduled masses.  This group is flexible and there are opportunities for instrumentalists and cantor soloists as well.
