Readers

Voices of the Word

In the Catholic Church, a reader, also known as a "Minister of the Word", is entrusted with the proclamation of Sacred Scripture during liturgical celebrations. This role involves preparing and confidently delivering readings from the Old Testament, New Testament, and the Psalms. Readers are tasked with conveying the Word of God with clarity, reverence, and understanding, making it accessible to the congregation. Beyond simply reciting the text, they strive to embody its message through their tone, expression, and demeanor, effectively communicating its significance to the assembled faithful. Through their ministry, readers contribute to the spiritual enrichment and engagement of the worshiping community, facilitating a deeper encounter with the living Word of God.
